Since the advent of orthodontics, many new advances in technology and techniques have emerged. This means that you no longer have to endure the anxiety and discomfort of wearing traditional metal braces in order to shift your teeth into their correct position. One alternative that Dr. Holley recommends and offers her patients in need of orthodontic treatment is Invisalign.

Invisalign works using a series of clear, removable aligners that will gradually shift the placement of your teeth. Every two weeks you will wear a different set of aligners that move your teeth closer to where Dr. Holley has prescribed.

The total treatment time generally takes about a year, but the hassles involved with wearing Invisalign are minimal compared to traditional braces. The two most important differences are that Invisalign's clear color makes the aligners very hard to detect when they are in place, and that you are able to take the aligner out when you eat, drink, brush, and floss. This eliminates the anxiety most people have about getting braces, the hassles of getting food stuck between the wires, and enduring difficult brushing.
